FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions and Answers
Turkey has a growing technology industry, and its universities teach computer engineering, software engineering, artificial intelligence and data science. Students who choose IT here get theory and practical skills they can use in the global job market. Istanbul, Ankara and several other cities have both universities and technology employers.
Why study IT in Turkey
Turkey has invested in digital transformation, software development and technology infrastructure over the last decade. That growth shows in university programs focused on computer engineering, software engineering, artificial intelligence and data science.
A number of private universities have made progress in IT and computer-related education in recent years. Altınbaş University, Aydın University, Nişantaşı University, Üsküdar University, Istanbul Medipol University and Beykent University offer applied programs in computer engineering, software engineering and information technologies.
Most programs combine theory with practice: students learn the basic concepts and also work on software projects. Math matters in IT studies, but universities teach it step by step, and regular study is usually enough to keep up.
Industry connections and career opportunities
Universities in Turkey work closely with the technology sector. Many campuses are near technology parks, startup centers and large software companies, so students can gain experience through internships, part-time jobs and project collaborations while they are still studying. That early exposure to real work environments gives them an edge after graduation.
Graduates can work as software developers, data specialists, system analysts or cybersecurity experts, in technology companies, startups and other sectors.

Modern fields: AI, data science and cybersecurity
IT education in Turkey goes beyond classic computer engineering. Many universities now teach artificial intelligence, data science, machine learning and cybersecurity, which are used in industries from finance to healthcare and manufacturing.
Research centers and laboratories support these fields. Students can join research projects, innovation programs and technology competitions.
English-taught programs and an international environment
Many IT programs in Turkey are taught fully in English. That matters for international students and for anyone who wants to work for global companies, and it makes it easier to continue studies abroad or join international teams.
Students from many countries study together on these campuses. Working with classmates from different backgrounds builds communication skills and cultural awareness, which count in the global technology sector. The program table below shows the fee, language and duration of English-taught programs.
